Question: I have to work with images. So I am planning to store them in a BLOB field. But I am afraid about the size of the transmission. What is the best way to work with BLOBs?
Answer: In FIBPlus version 4.8.1 (and upwards) we implemented local BLOB-filter mechanism. It enables you to pack images before sending them to a database and unpack them when getting them from the database. This process is transparent for your application.
